LinkedIn has announced and is rolling out an update to the site today, that allows users to mention their connections or companies in posts – allowing for great engagement between you and your connections. The feature is beginning to roll out today to English-speaking users of the site.

You will be able to mention a company or a first-degree connection in status updates, and in comment replies you can mention those part of the conversation.

This new update marks what we hope will be a series of advancements to LinkedIn, which is still quite a basic site in terms of design and interaction, compared to Facebook and Twitter.
