Well, that went quickly. The world’s largest social network is now 10 years old, and it’s been quite a journey.
What started out as a few college friends creating a network to connect fellow Harvard students has now connected over 1 billion people from the world over.
There’s no more appropriate way to mark the occasion than with a humble Facebook post from CEO and founder, Mark Zuckerberg.
There’s been a lot of talk about the decline of Facebook with teens supposedly leaving in their droves, but research from Socialbakers shows that 18-24 year-olds are still the largest age group on Facebook. Mark says he’s looking forward to the next 10 years even more than the last, but it will be fascinating to see how the network evolves and whether it is still around to celebrate its 20th birthday in 2024.
