Next Thursday (8th July) we’re holding the sister event to SMMUK10 in San Francisco. Social Media Marketing 2010 (San Francisco) will bring together 20 of the world’s leading social media minds to ask one simple question: how can we make social media deliver for marketing?
Speakers including Chris Heuer (Social Media Club), Ben Parr (Mashable), Richard Jalichandra (Technorati), Tom Foremski (Silicon Valley Watcher) and Kym McNicholas (Forbes) will tackle specific aspects of social media marketing through a selection of panel discussions, presentations and interactive discussions.
It’s going to be a full day packed with insight, case studies, hard facts and telling advice. The interesting thing for me is that we “crowd-sourced” the topics for this event (within a limited audience) and the result, unlike the London event – which was focused very much on marketing campaigns – is much more PR, startup and tech-oriented than I expected. I guess it closely reflects the entrepreneurial nature of those living in the Valley/San Francisco social media microcosm – so it’s all very exciting for a bloke from Ipswich (or rather, now, Cambridge).
The topics we’ll be discussing include:
- How to Create Brand Evangelists via Social Media
- Social Media Marketing for Luxury Brands
- How Tech Writers Cover Social Media
- How to Build Communities for Brands
- A/B Testing for Social Media
- How to Monitor and Measure Social Media Marketing Campaigns
- Innovations in Social Graph Optimisation
We’ll be Tweeting throughout at #SMMSF and posting the photos and videos online after the day. If you fancy coming down – there are still some tickets left but you’ll need to be pretty quick. I know… I know… we need bigger venues 😉
