MarketMeSuite - The Social Media Marketing Dashboard

As my Twitter followers will know, I’ve recently started using MarketMeSuite, the social media marketing dashboard [Quick disclosure: soon after I started using the app, I made contact with the founders and I’m now an Advisor].

On the face of it, MarketMeSuite looks a lot like TweetDeck, HootSuite and several other Twitter dashboards (which all do more than Twitter, but that’s their primary focus) – but behind the scenes there are some key differences. MarketMeSuite is a marketing application – meaning it’s not designed for private individuals. You have to learn how to use it properly and you can’t use it for free. It costs $5.99/month, which isn’t a lot, but clearly sets the intention of it’s founders Tammy Fennell and Alan Hamlyn: this is not a throw-away tool.

So what’s good about MarketMeSuite?

  1. Geo-targeted Reply Campaigns – This feature enables you to identify Twitter users who are discussing specific topics in specific locations (e.g. within 100 miles of London), follow them and send them a message – taken from a list of template messages that you create in advance. I showed this to a friend who runs a small PR firm and she screamed! (With happiness)
  2. Follow Users – Search for Twitter users by keyword – e.g. “PR”, “public relations” etc. This produces a list of users that you can either follow individually, or select “Follow all” and instantly follow the entire list. I haven’t seen anything as simple as this feature for connecting with relevant people fast.
  3. Automatically Tweet RSS feeds – You can add RSS feeds from relevant blogs and automatically Tweet their posts. This is hugely valuable tool for maintaining an active Twitter account and, if you’ve selected high-value blogs, can generate a regular stream of RT’s and follows.
  4. Advertise in your Tweets – Most (almost all) other Twitter apps use your Tweets to promote themselves – e.g. “Sent via TweetDeck” appearing below your Tweets. MarketMeSuite enables you to change this text (and link) to promote your company – i.e. “Sent via OurSocialTimes”. This inevitably increases clicks through to your site (see the stats on this blog). It’s a no-brainer, but hugely powerful.
  5. CRM integration – MarketMeSuite recently integrated ZenDesk, which means you can turn any Tweet you receive into a “ticket” and assign it to a colleague to deal with. Managing the firehose of Twitter posts and mentions is something every business is grappling with. This is a very neat solution to the problem.
  6. Blog Creation – As the name indicates, MarketMeSuite isn’t just about Twitter. It’s a suite of marketing tools. In addition to managing your Facebook accounts and Pages, one of the most powerful new features is BlogMe. You can basically create a professional-looking, hosted WordPress blog in less than a minute. You can actually create 10 blogs for $39 plus $15/year hosting. If you know anything about blog creation and hosting, that’s more or less incredible.

MarketMeSuite Marketing Tools [Image credit: Mintblogger.comThis is just a flavour of the application but I advise you to check it out for yourself. They’re still building it out, so you might find the odd loose end, but they are open to feedback. I made a feature request last week that was implemented within 1 hour. Not typical I’m told – but hey, I was impressed!

I guess the final thing I’d say about MMS is that they are in regular contact with Twitter to ensure the app and how they market it conforms strictly to Twitter’s own guidelines. Following their controversial announcement that Twitter would be focusing on building out its own features and (by implication) may end up pulling the plug on some apps, I find it quite comforting to know that the app I’m using is in the right camp.

If you’d like to meet Tammy and Alan from MarketMeSuite, they will be running demo’s this week at Monitoring Social Media New York and later this month in at Monitoring Social Media London.
